No matter whether they go into science or not, this is a skill that will help them be successful at anything they choose to do. Therefore, this is one of those "unwritten" tasks that teachers need to teach their students. Remove yourself for a moment from the student role, and think about this from the teacher's perspective. How do you encourage students to work together. Are personality conflicts always going to be in the way, or can teachers help students communicate effectively?
